Ong has been a journalist for 15 years before moving into PR. In Indonesia, he headed the Ogilvy PR team that won the PR Week award for Asia’s Consultancy of the Year 1999. He was managing director of Ogilvy PR in Singapore before founding Maverick in 2002. Ong specializes in strategy, crisis and issues management and is an accomplished trainer in media handling and crisis management for top executives. He is a Nuffield Press Fellow at Cambridge University, a regular contributor in the opinion page of The Jakarta Post and a certified Associate Business Continuity Planner. He is also a member of AmCham, BritCham and an advisor to Yayasan Mitra Netra.

With over 15 years of experience in the communications industry, Lita specializes in corporate leadership programs. She has helped clients develop their CSR programs that include Citi’s acclaimed PEKA program, Program Bimbingan Anak Sampoerna, Bayer’s environmental program and Pfizer’s Healthy Living Paradigm Campaign. Lita was Vice President at Ogilvy PR Jakarta before co-founding Maverick. As a partner she focuses on managing Maverick’s backroom operations to ensure that deadlines are met, details are checked and rechecked, work moves smoothly and employees’ professional and personal needs are met.

The newest senior member at Maverick, Lesley is a seasoned marketing consultant with over 17 years of experience in advising clients on consumer and B2B relationship marketing strategies in many different industries including retail, finance, charity, travel and FMCG. At Maverick, she is in charge of the Marketing PR and New Media Division. Prior to joining Maverick, Lesley has successfully set up and run relationship-marketing teams for two of the top internationally recognized agencies specializing in direct marketing and relationship marketing: Interact Carlson and Rapp Indonesia. Lesley holds a Marketing Diploma from Rapid Results College (1990) and a BA Degree in Business Studies from Napier University Scotland (1988).
NUR SHILLA CHRISTIANTO

Shilla holds a BA degree in Professional Communication, majoring in Public Relations from RMIT University, Melbourne. In Maverick, Shilla has worked with multi-national companies like Airbus and Coca-Cola. She previously led the Citi Indonesia account, one of Maverick’s largest retainer clients, before moving up to a more senior role in the company – ensuring the smooth operations of account handling and personnel functions. Shilla specializes in crisis and issue management and is an accomplished media handling skills trainer. She had worked on projects involving litigation support for high profile cases and had developed crisis management plans for FMCG companies in Indonesia. She is currently pursuing her Masters degree at The University of Melbourne on a fully paid up scholarship provided by Maverick.
ARI MARGIONO

This is Ono’s second stint at Maverick. In between stints Ono was Media Advocacy and Communications Manager for Oxfam GB, where he was responsible for developing and managing its campaigns, communications and lobbying efforts. He later joined Helen Keller International as Deputy Director of Programs. Ono has a strong interest in Corporate Social Leadership (CSL), Trainings, and Crisis/Issues Management, partly due to his involvement with the UN and other NGOs prior to his first stint at Maverick. Ono graduated from University of Wales, Aberystwyth, United Kingdom, majoring in International Politics and is currently taking an MBA (MM) executive degree at Bina Nusantara University, Jakarta, Indonesia. Ono currently leads the AIU account, the Corporate Social Leadership team and also is in charge of new business development and training.
HANNY KUSUMAWATI

Hanny holds a BA in Communications Studies from The London School of Public Relations—Jakarta; and in 2005, Indonesian Directorate General of Higher Education acclaimed her with “The Best Student” award. In Maverick, Hanny mainly focuses in brand communications and the use of new social media in public relations. As the event manager of Indonesia’s first national-scale blogger gathering Pesta Blogger 2007, 2008 and 2009 Hanny has established close contacts with Indonesia’s most prominent bloggers and netters. Hanny is one of Maverick’s media handling skills trainers and is now in charge of the company’s New Media Division.

Prior to Maverick, Awie was an Expert Assistant in the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) where he provided advice, analysis and recommendations on Indonesian broadcasting policies. After the Asian Tsunami, Awie was sent by the Faculty of Social and Political Science, University Indonesia, to Aceh as the training coordinator in a capacity building program for the province’s radio stations. Awie holds a Mass Communications degree from the University of Indonesia. In Maverick, Awie is now leading the Media Intelligence Practice Group and is managing the Citi and Astro accounts as well as overseeing the Coca-Cola Indonesia account.
DODY ROCHADI

Dody majored in English at the University of Indonesia and has been involved in public relations and communication over the past six years. He has worked with several PR firms in Indonesia, worked on the electoral campaigns for the presidency and gubernatorial polls and as the external affairs officer of a major foreign mining company before joining Maverick. He also belongs to a writers collective that contributes to their writings to newspapers. In Maverick he is part of the team that handles the Airbus, Sampoerna and Astro accounts. Dodi is a member of Maverick’s Crisis and Issue Management as well as Media Intelligence practice groups.

Sharon joins Maverick as a fresh honours graduate in Communication Studies from The London School of Public Relations – Jakarta. In 2005, she received Gold Pin for Best Student Award from London School of Public Relations – Jakarta and won first place in University Student Writing Competition held by Private Universities’ Cooperation for Education category. Before joining Maverick, she was an account executive and PR officer in ASCOMAXX free automotive magazine. Prior to her appointment as leader of the Airbus account, Sharon was a key member of the Citi Indonesia team and was also involved in handling a crisis and issue management project. Currently, she is now leading the Sampoerna Brand A and Airbus account. Internally, Sharon is leading Pecha Kucha Jakarta and a part of Marketing PR Practice Group.

Stephanie Tjong holds a bachelor degree in Communication Studies, majoring in Public Relations, from The London School of Public Relations-Jakarta. In 2007, Stephanie was co-3rd place winner of the College Students’ Essay Competition in the Jakarta area. The competition was organized by the Ministry of Education. Before joining Maverick, she was an intern at Human Resources and Public Relations Department in Aryaduta Hotel Jakarta. In Maverick she handles Citi Indonesia and Danone AQUA accounts. Stephanie is a member of Maverick’s Crisis and Issue Management Practice Group.

Surya holds a Bachelor degree from University of Indonesia, majoring in Chinese Studies and specializing in Linguistics. During his study, he was the recipient of the LEaRN Scholarship (2009) from Nanyang Technological University and Temasek Foundation, Singapore. Surya is the Champion of the National Environmental Debate (2006), the Capital Market Debating Competition (2007), Festival Ekonomi Syariah – Debating Competition (2008) and was awarded Best Speaker at the 2006 Asian Law Students Association (ALSA) LC-UI English Debating Competition. Prior to Maverick, he worked as a Language Assistant at the Jakarta office of McKinsey & Co. and was an intern at the ASEAN Secretariat. In Maverick, Surya is a member of Chartis and Citi account teams.

Dhina was a freelance journalist for Seventeen Magazine, a translator of movie scripts, a fashion advisor for Tlab, a company known for its edgy T-shirt designs as well as a contributor for online jazz portal (www.jazzuality.com) before joining Maverick. An international relations major at the University of Indonesia, Dhina is a team member in Sampoerna A-Mild and Citi Indonesia accounts. Dhina is part of Maverick’s media intelligence team.

Adis was a Harvard National Model United Nations Delegate in 2008 and Faculty Advisor in 2009 representing Padjadjaran University. She also graduated Cum Laude with a major in Communication Studies. Adis’ working experience includes an internship at Promo on Air Division PT Rajawali Citra Televisi Indonesia, being an announcer and producer Ardan Radio Live at Ciwalk Bandung, and being Junior Marketing Executive in Baby and Child Care Departement PT Kimberly-Clark Indonesia. In Maverick, Adis handles Sampoerna A Mild and HM Sampoerna Corporate accounts.

Cipluk joins Maverick with close to three years experience with a PR consultancy and managing accounts dealing with sports, music telecommunications and Fast Moving Consumer Goods. She holds two degrees – one on Communications from University of Indonesia and another on English Education from Atma Jaya University. She is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Communication Management from University of Indonesia. In Maverick Cipluk leads the Coca-Cola account.

Nena is probably the only communications consultant in Indonesia that speaks Swedish. A member of Maverick’s New Media Division, Nena holds an MA in Science, Technology and Society from Linköping University, Sweden. Prior to joining Maverick, Nena had been working as freelance interpreter for various companies such as UNDP, WHO, and Nielsen Indonesia. She was also senior facilitator at Cross Cultural Communication Center. While obtaining her degree in Sweden, she became the president for the International Students Association for a year. Nena acquired her BA with cum laude in Communication and Media Studies from University of Indonesia. Together with her team, Nena works with clients with a focus on new and social media, such as Pestablogger, Citi Success Fund, and Microsoft Partners in Learning.

James has been working in the corporate communications and design sector for over five years. Prior to moving out to Indonesia he worked for Excite Communications in London. James’ main focus is in off-line and on-line design working on numerous high profile projects for clients such as Cinven, GKN plc, Jones Lang LaSalle and BP. In Maverick James mainly focuses on front end website design and information architecture, with a passion for websites that are accessible. Before entering the world of communication James was a professional in the music industry having worked with Grammy Award winning producers as well as touring the world and performing on MTV. Dita joins Maverick from Maylaffayza Management that promoted the image of violinist Maylayaffayza. There Dita worked on image management, media relations and publication. A BA graduate of the University of Indonesia, Dita also interned at BP Indonesia’s Communication and External Affairs Department where she worked with the Strategy and Planning Team on the CSR efforts surrounding the Tangguh Project. In Maverick Dita specializes in Media Relations to support several of our client accounts.

Dini holds a Bachelor degree in French Study, Faculty of Humanities, University of Indonesia. During her study, she is also a scholarship recipient for French Language Summer Course in IMEF, Montpellier, France. A few of her achievements are being nominated as “Excellent Students” finalist from Faculty of Humanities, University of Indonesia, 2007 and Runner Up Winner for Essay Writing Competition “Journée Internationalé de la Francophonie 2007″ held by French Embassy. She started her career as Customer Service Staff in ak.’sa.ra bookstore. Before joining Maverick, she was the Time Out Magazine Section Editor.

Tissa holds a B.A. in Communication Studies from the University of Indonesia, where she was the Vice President of the students’ association and the first manager of her varsity football club. Prior to joining Maverick, she was a PR consultant at a local PR firm, handling accounts belonging to Sony Ericsson, Marie France Bodyline and various State-Owned Enterprises. Tissa enjoys watching cooking shows and reading novels. At Maverick, Tissa is a member of Citi Indonesia and Coca-Cola accounts.
REZA A. JUNIARSHAH

Graduated from the University of Indonesia, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, majoring in Sociology, Reza has quite interesting experiences; ranging from becoming a faculty member, an employee for an advertising agency, making films, and a sales staff for a corporate charge card. Reza started as a media tracker in late 2006 while pursuing his master’s degree in business administration. Currently, he leads the banking and finance team in Gauge Media Monitoring.

Said holds a bachelor degree in Politics from University of Indonesia. He joined Maverick’s media tracking division in August 2008, and soon found his passion for the job. Apart from his job running operational matters in the team, he is also appointed to handle several media tracking accounts such as Citibank, AXIS and Chartis Insurance Indonesia.
CRELO MAINAKE

Crelo graduated from Martin College Perth, Australia, with a diploma in Information Technology – something rather different from PR. He then went off to spend a number of years as professional radio announcer at a local radio station. In late 2007, Crelo decided to join Maverick as a Media Tracking Officer and was gradually exposed to the world of media monitoring and public relations. Crelo currently handles Gauge Media Monitoring’s daily operations and oversees a number of media tracking clients, including PermataBank and Danamon.

Hasto holds a B.A. in Communication Studies from the University of Indonesia, and while pursuing his degree he also works part-time as a freelance translator. He joined Maverick in mid 2008 as a Media Tracking Officer and he handled various media tracking clients, such as AXIS, Citibank, Danamon and Sampoerna Foundation. Hasto also has experienced as a private English tutor and as an insurance agent. Now Hasto is in charge of Gauge Media Monitoring’s quality control and analysis, as well as overseeing several media tracking clients, including Citibank and Astro.
